THE WWI TERRITORIAL HERITAGE MUSEUM
A veritable open-air museum, the Musée Territoire 14-18 ("WWI Territorial Heritage Museum") comprises some two dozen representative sites, presenting and recreating Great War history, the life of WWI soldiers, the most important monuments, nearly forgotten anecdotes... Stretching over sixty kilometers, this history-rich discovery route offers hiking trails, guided tours, exhibitions and museums exploring the manner in which the territory and its populations experienced the war, on either side of the fixed frontline. The "Rethondes Discovery Centre" serves as the museum entrance. This modern heritage site, overflowing with fascinating photos and firsthand accounts, is a veritable orientation center dedicated to the "Red Line", the old front line passing through Oise.
