City tour on a bike
With most cities, my favourite way to do my first exploration and get my bearings, is by going about by bike. There’s cycling lanes all around the city, and you can go from parks, to the seaside to the city in no time at all. I instantly fell like I was on holidays!
Dinner at Coquillages et Crustacés
In the evening, I took the car and drove to the nearby village of l’Houmeau. I had dinner at Coquillages et Crustacés, outside on the terrasse, eating the freshest seafood and fish whilst seeing the sun setting over the Ocean. Couldn’t get any better than this.

Belle de Gabut
After dinner, I dropped off the car and walked over by la Belle de Gabut. I ordered a drink at one of the little bars and took in the local atmosphere of the place, where music and laughters mixed beautifully.
Yoga on the beach
I woke up early and walked all the way across town on my way to the beach. The warm light of the sunrise was refracting on the white buildings of the city centre and it was beautiful. I then had an hour yoga lesson on the beach, staring at the ocean, and it was truly the best way to start the day!
Ice Cream Ernest le Glacier
When sightseeing a city in the summer, it’s hard to resist picking up an ice cream to stay hydrated as you walk around, right? Ernest le Glacier has the widest choice of flavours (so many it’s actually hard to pick just 2 or 3!) and is ideally located in the centre.
