The capital of the Dukes of Lorraine, Nancy is renowned the world over for its UNESCO listed 18th Century architecture. This includes its three squares: Carrière, Alliance and Stanislas, said to be the most beautiful in the world. Wandering through any one of these, or a stroll to admire the city’s Art Nouveau treasures, can be enhanced by a gourmet stop to sample the original macaroons that have been made since 1793.
