One Way – My favourite tea room!
A venue that’s part-tea room, part-art gallery, and is really welcoming.
16, rue des Lices – Open Tuesday to Saturday from 11.30am to 7pm, and the first Sunday of every month for a tasty brunch.
Café Cardinal – The best chai latte in town!
A new addition to the Angers street scene, this cafe also hosts regular exhibitions (graphic design, drawings, photos, etc.).
4 bis rue des Arènes – open Monday to Friday 8.30am to 6.30pm and Saturdays from 10am to 6.30pm.
Myriagone - A shop filled with curiosities and knowledge that’s not to be missed!
This atypical book shop is also home to a coffee shop and a gallery showing all kinds of graphic arts.
16 rue Bodinier - Open Tuesday to Saturday 11am to 7pm.
Le Quai – Concerts and shows… catch them all here!
A theatre that brings all of the arts together under one roof, for the widest possible audience. Worth it even just for the views from the rooftop.
Cale de la Savatte – Open Monday to Friday 1pm to 7pm, and Saturdays from 3pm to 6pm.
Balzac park and Le Héron Carré: For al fresco drinks or a morning run, it’s the place to be!
Balzac park is a popular living space for locals. It is also home to the Héron Carré outdoor bar with its pretty wooden terrace and concerts from May to September.
Les 400 coups: The only cinema I go to in Angers!
An independent cinema with seven screens, it shows little-known films in their original languages.
12, rue Claveau – Open daily.
Craft Beer Shop - My official beer supplier.
A purveyor of craft beer and craft beer alone, some of which is even local! Tastings are a regular event.
8 rue Saint Laud – Open Tuesday to Friday from 1pm to 8pm and Saturday from 10am to 8pm.
Le Cercle Rouge – “A glass of wine a day keeps the doctor away!”
A wine bar with a menu containing 250 natural wines from Anjou and elsewhere, and a great selection of dishes to share in a friendly atmosphere.
4 rue des deux haies – Open Mondays 6pm to 11pm, and Tuesday to Saturday 6pm to 1am.
There’s more to see that didn’t quite make the list.
“Exit music for a drink” at 4 bis rue Bodinier and the tea room and vegan, gluten-free, local organic, and well-being restaurant “Same Same” at 13 rue de la Roë.
