France places three restaurant in the top 10 of La Liste's 2018 palmares: Guy Savoy's restaurant, Alain Ducasse at Plaza Athénée and La Vague d'Or at Saint-Tropez. A new mobile app that allows to find a total of 16,000 addresses, with 1,000 worldwide restaurants ranked in the palmares.
The very long-awaited palmares was just revealed. And France stays on the World podium with 118 restaurants among the 1,000 listed, in 3rd position after Japan and China. Guy Savoy's restaurant at la Monnaie de Paris is sacred best restaurant in the World for the second time in a row. For its second edition, La Liste reflects the evolution of the World gastronomy trends and the positioning of each country as regards fine cuisine.
This year, La Liste offers a structured selection in 3 categories for a total of 16,000 addresses: the "World Top 1,000" palmares ranks the best restaurants in the World, graded according the most reliable guides and food critics; the "Tables d'Exception", among 5,000, offer a well-known cuisine and approved by a large majority as one of the best of the country or its region; finally, the "Coups de Coeur" make a list of local gems to feast on without breaking the bank.
An algorithm crossing more than 550 gastronomic sources
Of what to insure a very large geographic coverage including secondary cities and remote areas.This worldwide network is one of the competitive advantages of La Liste that becomes the 1st World guide in number of listed restaurants.
Carried by an international team of experts and gastronomes gathered around Philippe Faure, Ambassador of France, La Liste has the ambition to create the best international gastronomic selection, serving as a reference for the gourmets of the whole World. It leans against an algorithm crossing more than 550 specialized gastronomic sources, with renowned guides as the Michelin or journal of records like the New York Times. The algorithm determines a grade establishing the founding base of its palmares.
New this year, La Liste offers from now on a free app giving access to the top 1,000 of World restaurant. A "premium" version in partnership with La Fourchette allows also to make reservations in 10 countries including France, with the possibility to choose the restaurant according to a certain number of requirements (location, needs, budget,...), to check the reviews of guides and food critics, or share contents with friends. Available as soon as December 5th on the AppStore, it will be also downloadable on Android from January 2018.
During a ceremony welcoming about forty worldwide chefs on December 4th at Quai d'Orsay in France, La Liste will attribute special prizes, which this year go to Moët-Hennessy (Best Cellar and Sommelier), Air France (Best Progression), Engie (Environmental Responsability), Renault (Sustainable Food) and La Fourchette (Way of Life).
