Visit Lake Annecy

A natural wonder, and a mecca for outdoor activities in winter as well as summer

The commitment to preserve the lake’s pristine character began way back in 1957. Thanks to these concerted efforts over the years, today Lake Annecy is considered the purest and cleanest lake in Europe.
The view of the lake and the mountains which surround it has a distinctly Alpine character, particularly given the lake’s altitude at 447m above sea level.

Lake Annecy is a jewel of nature in which nature reserves, mountain tracks and lofty peaks co-exist side-by-side…

Annecy is also known as the “Venice of the Alps”, as the town is criss-crossed by flower-decked canals which endow it with a unique charm.
Annecy also boasts myriad gastronomic products to entice food-lovers, including local specialities such as Reblochon and Tome des Bauge cheeses. The lake itself boasts delicacies such as the salmon-like féra, and char (ombre-chevalier).

Visitors in search of thrills and spills will also have plenty to keep themselves busy!

In summer: water skiing, wakeboarding, wakesurfing, kitesurfing, sailing, canoeing…
In winter: downhill skiing, snow-kiting, Nordic skiing, snowshoeing
