Vignobles & Découvertes: Vignoble du Jura

The Vignobles & Découvertes label aims to provide quality services and visits catering to wine tourism. The label appeals to a customer base that appreciates the world of wine without necessarily being connoisseurs, and offers a range of quality services: accommodation, cultural sites, leisure activities, cellar tours, restaurants, exploration of natural spaces, events and more.

Destination: Vignoble du Jura

Located in the heart of Franche-Comté, the “Jura Vineyards” destination reveals its treasure. Four geographical AOCs (Arbois, Château-Chalon, Côtes du Jura, L’Étoile), two product AOCs (Crémant and Macvin), two special mentions (Vin jaune and Vin de paille), as well as five grape varieties (Poulsard, Pinot Noir and Trousseau for red, and Chardonnay and Savagnin for white wine) all translate the amazing diversity of a multi-facetted wine-producing area.

The destination features 100 high-quality service providers who look forward to giving you a warm welcome in their cellars, accommodation, restaurants, heritage sites, tourist office, activities, tourist attractions, and major event organisers such as the Percée du Vin Jaune.

A rich programme awaits you, thanks to superb towns like Salins-les-Bains with its Great Saltworks and the Salt Museum (UNESCO heritage list); Arbois, the home of Pasteur and Jura Wines; Poligny- capital of Comté cheese; Château-Chalon, acknowledged as one of France’s most beautiful villages; Lons-le-Saunier and the Laughing Cow ® Centre; L’Etoile as an acknowledged AOC, and Saint-Amour with its stunning heritage.

Other sites, such as Baume-les-Messieurs, famous above all for its steephead valley, Imperial Abbey, caves and waterfalls will delight visitors.
