Immerge yourself in Bordeaux wines
Start the morning by experiencing the permanent visit of the Cité du Vin for 1h15 or 2 hours and learn all about the world wine culture. Then have lunch at the restaurant Le 7 (located on the 7th floor of the museum) or cross the street to the Halles de Bacalan, a covered food market.
In the afternoon, visit a wine estate in one of the 5 Bordeaux appellations surrounding the city and taste the wine of the estate visited.

The Médoc located along the Garonne River with famous names such as Margaux, Saint-Julien, Saint-Estèphe...
The Blaye & Bourg region located on the right bank of the Gironde estuary with the citadel of Blaye
The prestigious region of Saint-Emilion with its medieval and typical village, both classified by Unesco.

The Graves region, the closest appellation to the city, cradle of Bordeaux wines. You can reach some of the châteaux in the Pessac Léognan appellation by public transport.

The Sauternes region, famous for its sweet white wines and prestigious châteaux.
The Entre-deux-Mers, often called the Tuscany of Bordeaux, is full of family-owned estates and where you can visit the Abbey of Sauve Majeure.
