Visit New Aquitaine

New Aquitaine is France’s largest region, a unification of the former regions of Aquitaine, Limousin and Poitou-Charentes in the country’s south-west corner, with a wealth of diverse treasures to explore and experience. There are vibrant cities including Bordeaux, Limoges, Angoulême and Périgueux; a string of resorts along the Atlantic coast from La Rochelle and Île de Ré to Biarritz; heritage gems such as the Lascaux caves and war-torn Oradour-sur-Glane; vast natural parks, forests and rivers offering numerous outdoor activities; and of course, fine gastronomy: specialities include duck and foie gras, truffles, prunes, oysters and wine from the world-renowned vineyards around Bordeaux.
