Discover the vineyard as a family
In Gironde, many wine growing estates offer activities especially designed for children. No risk of them being bored while you enjoy the visits and tastings organised for the adults. Also at château Tire-Pé in Gironde-sur-Dropt, children can discover the vineyard in an original way by pony trekking through the rows of vines.
Follow “Charlotte’s Routes” with your family, a nice map of routes which suggests themed Bordeaux wine routes in several châteaux, like château Soutard, which offers an exclusive children’s visit, château Agassac, Château Ahon, château Moulin de Peyronin (an organic wine) or, just recently, château des Bardins where your little ones will be welcomed by Stella and her cheery menagerie.

End of june - beginning of july 2014: Bordeaux celebrates the wine
Organized every 2 years (even year) alternating with Vinexpo, Bordeaux celebrates the wine Festival combines discovery, awareness of the culture of wine and music venue. Your sesame in hand (the tasting Pass), walk on the "route des vins" along the Garonne river, in the heart of the heritage listed district by Unesco. The tourist office also offers a special package including, besides the tasting Pass, a vineyards Pass, 2 nights in hotel, and a guided tour of Bordeaux.
7th september 2013: 29th edition of the Médoc Marathon
Classified by the Americans among the 10 most beautiful marathons in the world, the Médoc marathon is certainly the first for its friendly atmosphere of "marathon-fest." At least half of the 7500 competitors is costumed. The route passes through many wineries where wines of the Médoc are served. A great dinner called "mille pâtes" is organized for the participants the day before and many animations, punctuate this weekend of festivities in the colours of the Médoc.
15th september 2013: The Ban of the harvest of the Jurade of Saint-Emilion
Last stage in the life of the vineyard: the future harvest. The Jurade proclaimed officially the beginning of harvest time.
