UEFA EURO 2016™ : Paris unveils its huge fan-zone
Set up on the Champs-de-Mars from 10th June until 10th July, the supporters will be able to meet in a festive and ultra-secure space for the duration of the Euro 2016 championship. Let’s get the party started!
Located at the foot of the Eiffel tower, this space will spread over 130 000 m² to welcome up to 92 000 people. On match evenings, the access to the site will be free to all football fans.
An ultra connected zone
All the matches of the championship will be shown on a giant screen - "the biggest ever made" - lined up with the Eiffel tower . Eight other giant screens will be spread over the area. This fan-zone will be entirely connected and interactive, with great WiFi connection.
While Paris is getting ready to welcome three million supporters, the area will be protected with the highest security standards and palpations and metal detectors will be in place at all entrances. The fan zone will be strictly monitored 24/7.
Football of course, but not only…
During the match free days the fan zone will host concerts from David Guetta, who composed the anthem for the UEFA EURO 2016, on 9th June, and the British band Muse will take to the stage on 28th June.
A pavillon will offer programs dedicated to Parisian heritage and innovation. Children will be able to imagine themselves as European champions on the mini football pitches or basketball courts. A relaxation space will also be available in the gardens of the Champs-de-Mars with Hammocks and parasols.
The foodies will be able to enjoy all the French specialities in the Restaurant village menu.
