St Mary's Cathedral

World Heritage Site of Humanity by UNESCO, this building of Romanesque-Gothic style owes its existence to the many spoils brought back by Viscount Gaston IV the Crusader after his part in the Crusades and the Reconquista.

Treasury of Saint Mary’s Cathedral

The north chapels of St Mary's Cathedral house a collection of liturgical objects, all registered or listed, protected by the Historic Monuments and form the treasury of the cathedral.

The district of Saint Mary’s Cathedral

In the thirteenth century, this area became an episcopal citadel until the Revolution, and the bishops were the lords. They ruled the roost and they built many buildings like the Bishop's Palace, the Seminary or the Ursuline Convent.

Holy Cross medieval district

Many traces attest to the rich medieval past of the city like the half-timbered houses that housed part of the market, the Seneschal’s house, the city hall and prison where King Louis XI came to stay.

The heritage trail

This original trail will enable you to discover the attractions of the various historic districts of the city in such an unusual and unique way, at your own free pace. Issued at the Tourist Office, an electronic bracelet to be put on your wrist (programmed according to the expectations of visitors – languages, time of visit, etc.) enables you to listen to the comments issued by 11 interactive stations located near the remarkable sites of the city.

Haut-Béarn company train

Inside the Tourist Office, an amazing train journey awaits passengers. On a railway platform in 1900’s style, three carriages of the Compagnie du Haut Béarn invite visitors to take their seats to discover the attractions of the region.

House of the master chocolate makers LINDT & SPRÜNGLI

The famous chocolate maker Lindt Sprüngli invites you to their "factory shop", near the only production site in France.
Cross the scenographic space dedicated to the history of chocolate to get to the factory shop (free admission).
