Lozère

Mende is the capital of Lozère and gateway into the Causses plateaux and the Cévennes. The building of its magnificent cathedral, Notre Dame & Saint Privat, was started in 1368 by Pope Urbain V and consecrated in 1467. Narrow cobbled streets with houses dating from the XI to XVIIII centuries and houses beside the river Lot with roves on the form of upside down boats are very typical along this river.

Aveyron

"Les couteaux de Laguiole" (Pocket artisanal Knives) Renowned symbol of L’Aveyron, the Laguiole knife gave its reputation to this village. Visit craft shops and craft Work shops.

A major cultural site. Conques is an important stopover on the route of Saint Jacques de Compostella, gathering an exceptional roman heritage. The new glass windows of the abbey by Pierre Soulages, respect the Romanesque atmosphere and its symbolisms. The Benedictine Abbey, is now a Unesco world Heritage site. Today the summer evening concerts are held at the abbey.

Discover Estaing, a medieval village rich in culture. On the way to Saint Jacques de Compostelle, its bridge and its cross are listed on the World Unesco Patrimony.

Espalion is also a must-see village, situated in the heart of the nature and on the way to Saint Jacques de Compostelle.


Cantal

In Montsalvy each year, from the beginning of July in the Rattan basket festival animates the streets and gathers several generations of locals of rattan weavers. Medieval town, roman abbey, Munks rooms from the 14th century.

Lot

Cahors is the capital of the Lot and has recently joined the prestigious circle of “villes d’art et d’histoire”. Set with sun-kissed stone, flower decked streets and squares, this historic centre of the town is particularly attractive. The boulevard Gambetta, the very lively main street, is lined with 19th century neoclassical architecture. Every Saturday and Wednesday the Saint Etienne cathedral hosts one of the most traditional markets of the south west.

Lot et Garonne

Villeneuve sur Lot is among the most beautiful bastide town in the Lot Valley.
