The Waleï Festival is the opportunity for visitors to discover this tuber, the Waleï, essentially promoting Ouvéa, often called "sweet yam" and is the pride of the farmers in the north of the island.

The Waleï Festival takes place every year in the Heo tribe of Ouvéa. The opportunity to sample the bougna, fried food, gratin...

Dances, songs, lumberjack competitions, braiding and baking of "pan" bread workshops punctuate the celebration to delight each person.
