Roc des Alpes 74220 La Clusaz fr

The 2013 Roc will be staged at a new venue. After three decades of MTB events on the Mediterranean coast (Roc d'Azur), the La Clusaz resort in Savoy will host competitors from all levels and disciplines for the Roc des Alpes.

While the descent, rando, enduro and marathon will take centre stage during the 16 planned events, this first edition of the Roc des Alpes will also emphasise new races, such as the “Eliminator” event. For the first time in France, this innovation will take place on a circuit covering approx. 800 metres, which is packed with natural and artificial obstacles. After qualifying, groups of four riders will fight it out to achieve the best times in a final showdown. This is the first time that an Eliminator event has been open to the general public (event limited to 96 participants).

In addition to its sporting aspect, the Roc des Alpes will remain loyal to the friendly and inclusive ethos of its Mediterranean counterpart. The village will focus on equipment tests and family activities. In  addition, so that the venue is accessible to all, electrically assisted pedal cycles (EAPC) will be allowed on the "rando".
