"Once upon a time the Orient Express"
At the Arab World Institute
The Arab World Institute (Institut du Monde Arabe - IMA) in Paris is hosting an exhibition dedicated to the Orient Express, the legendary and luxurious train linking Paris to Istanbul in the late 19th century to the 1970s.
In partnership with the SNCF, owner of the Orient Express and custodian of the brand, the exhibition will offer visitors the chance to embark inside the original train.
They will discover the locomotive and cross three cars so that they can enjoy the atmosphere of this legend of rail travel, link between Europe to the East in the last century.
Within the IMA , 800 m² of exhibition reveal objects and photos. Witnesses of the luxury at that time, visitors will find toilets and vanity sink, dishes and silverware, travel trunks or restaurant menus. Old posters, travel documents and anecdotes and stories related to the famous passengers will retrace the legend .
