"L'Oeil" de Planque: Hans Berger at the Musée Granet
Jean Planque (1910-1998), a major Swiss collector, was a friend of many artists and a painter himself. He also had a great esteem for his fellow countryman Hans Berger (1882-1977).
Hans Berger was an atypical artist, somewhat withdrawn from the world, and contemplative. Jean Planque took a keen interest in his work as he did with Dubuffet, one of his closest friends.
In the new exhibition areas, at the Chapelle des Pénitents Blancs, the Musée Granet, in Aix-en-Provence, offers you to discover, some twenty-five of the finest paintings of Hans Berger.
This exhibition shows how the relationship between the two artists was full of admiration, enthusiasm and warmth.
