Fête de la Gastronomie, French Cuisine Festival

Since 2011, the Fête de la Gastronomie has been celebrated all over France and beyond.

In just a few years, la Fête de la Gastronomie has become one of the main events of this sector in France. In 2015, about two million visitors and 300 000 professionals gathered in 11 000 events.

Popular cuisines, the 2016 theme

Each year, the Fête de la Gastronomie revolves around one specific theme to encourage thoughts and discovery of the French gastronomy.  The theme chosen to illustrate the 6th edition of the event is generous, unifying and creative.

‘Popular cuisines’ belong to all. They are every day cooking, family meals, moments with your friends… daily symbols of living together, simple, accessible cuisine from this diverse world.

They reinvent themselves at home, in the kitchens or on the restaurants’ menus. Popular cooking styles are first and foremost tasty cuisines that enhance regional produce and exalt the know-how of the numerous actors of the gastronomy.

Flagship events of the 2016 edition

« Toqués de Canard » (Crazy for duck) in Paris

In the gardens of the Palais Royal, come and face the prestigious chefs around culinary spars full of creativity.

At the place of honour: the popular cooking style of the Landes (south west France) and duck under all its shapes.

During the day, small and bigger ones will learn how to cook their own terrine of fois-gras or home-made preserving jar and will taste this French produce.

Place Colette, Rue de Montpensier - 75001 Paris

10h - 18h

IRQUA: « Les beaux-arts culinaires » (culinary fine arts) in Normandie

Discover this original project that aims to associate culinary and pictorial arts: the "beaux-arts culinaires" are an invitation to sensory travel for the culture vultures and foodies.

Great Norman chefs will be invited to visit a museum and create recipes inspired from the exhibited works.

Each day, two to three culinary animations will be offered (with the appropriate cider sides) in six of Normandy’s museums.

« Fantastic Picnic » in Burgundy

To celebrate the Fête de la Gastronomie Burgundy chose a simple and friendly formula: the picnic - or, to be more precise, over 30 “fantastic picnics”. Organised in surprising places, they will take the shape of a garden-party, a custom party, a treasure hunt or a guingette

All different, the "Fantastic Picnics" will offer different formulas depending on where they are hosted. You will find one that matches your tastes!
