Christmas at the châteaux
Following the example of traditional Christmas markets, a new tradition is gradually developing in the Touraine region.
- Christmas at the Château d'Amboise
From 28 November 2015 to 10 January 2016: Christmas over the centuries
“It’s Christmas!” The joyful cries of the royal princes have left their echo in this royal palace. However, the way Christmas is celebrated has undergone major changes over the centuries and a visit to Amboise introduces visitors to the origins of many of our traditions, from the Renaissance to the 18th and 19th centuries, all to a backdrop of beautiful decorations.
Bilingual commentaries (French and English), plus Christmas music, with an audio-guide (supplement payable, also includes commentaries on the permanent collections).
Price: included in the admission fee to the castle (audio-guide supplement: 4€)
