    Notre-Dame de l'Epine Basilica

In the middle of the basilica.

Dated between 1405 and 1527, the basilica was constructed when shepherds found a statue of the Virgin in a burning thorn bush.
It was built using the cathedral of Reims as model; its basilica plan has a deambulatory leading to five radiating chapels.

Burning brazier and blossoming rose bushes, according to Paul Claudel, the frontage is of a flamboyant Gothic style with pinnacles and very realistic gargoyles symbolizing vices and evil spirits. A site of great pilgrimages, it has seen, among many others, Charles VII and Louis XI.
