L’Hôtel de Lalande was built in the 18th century by Bordeaux resident Etienne Laclotte for the marquis of Lalande. Classically styled, the hotel opens onto a court and a garden, where enormous trees are planted.
After having belonged to different owners, it was acquired by the city in 1878. Since 1923, the hotel has presented collections of furniture, ceramics, glassworks, gold and silver, and ironworks.
The story of Bordeaux in the 18th century is evoked by a collection of royalist souvenirs.
