Rendez vous in the Jura !
Located in eastern France, in the Franche-Comté region in the Jura, the tourist route of Jura wines was set up in 1990. It is a real "backbone" around the Jura vineyards and follows a 80 km route from Salins les Bains to Saint-Amour.
This road is also home to a rich cultural heritage to be discovered, including some nationally and internationally renowned sites.
Integrated in the "Jura Mountains" network, the tourist route is part of a comprehensive approach to communication with other routes of discovery like "les Routes du Comté" or "les Grandes Traversées du Jura". The goal is to provide visitors with a broad and varied territorial offer and get them to discover local traditions and skills. Food lovers can enjoy delicious local specialities perfectly matched with the wines of Jura vineyards, with such a special character.
These are so many reasons to go along this scenic route which became European Tourist Destination of ExcelleNce in France, through to the event which led to its being awarded at the EDEN contest in 2008 on the theme: Tourism and Heritage: "the breakthrough of yellow wine". This event is held annually in February.
