Rendez-vous in Cherbourg, Cotentin ! 50 Cherbourg fr

Cherbourg in the Cotentin like you've never seen ! For the first time and exclusively you will discover the city bordered by the coast of La Hague, off the Channel Islands and east fishing villages of the Val de Saire to the east.

Cherbourg is essentially its port, port of departure to the New World. Cherbourg was, until the 1930s, the Mecca of emigration as evidenced by the still prestigious transatlantic ferry terminal now turned into a tourist, cultural, educational and scientific centre:  The Cité de la Mer, a theme park dedicated to the great adventure of man beneath the sea.

Cherbourg was also the only mainland stop of the Titanic in 1912, 100 years after the most publicized sinking of the century, the Cité de la Mer opens a unique journey in France:  ‘Titanic, Return to Cherbourg’. Among other things, you will relive the famous voyage of the Titanic through moving accounts of witnesses of the drama.

These are all good reasons to visit this city which was awarded the EDEN Awards in 2011 on the theme: "Tourism and reconverted Sites" and discovering an European tourist Destination of ExcelleNce in France without delay.
